Some wonderful Punjabi Language related utilities that I came across on Internet while searching and surfing, that made my Punjabi website development work so simple and easy. Thanks to the development process initiated by the these people for promoting Punjabi Languge over Inetrnet.

1. Online Punjabi Font Converter performs automated font conversion between a number of Gurmukhi Punjabi true type fonts. This free online Punjabi font converter can convert Punjabi text in any true type Punjabi Gurmukhi font to its equivalent in another font or Gurmukhi Unicode

2. Akhar - Akhar, the bilingual Punjabi-English word processor has been developed for word processing under the Windows environment. It provides a number of features that make the use of Punjabi Language on a computer easy and provides a number of tools that automate and simplify the creation and formatting of documents. Akhar provides most of the features that are normally found in a WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) word processor. Akhar is completely compatible with MS-Word. All the files created in MS-Word can be opened and edited in Akhar and the files developed in Akhar can be modified in MS-Word. Other features include - Spell Checker for Punjabi, Separate dictionary of all words occurring in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Built-in English-Punjabi and Punjabi-English dictionaries etc. Remember Akhar is not free. You need to purchase it.

3. GUCA - This application will convert text based on Dr. Thind's fonts (e.g. AnmolLipi, GurbaniLipi fonts) into Unicode. It also includes a custom mapping engine that allows you to easily add your own font mappings. A must have Punjabi Unicode Font Converter. Released under the GNU General Public Licence (Open-Source). This means that this software is entirely free and available for all to download and edit.

4 Sherik - Sherik is a stripped down version of Akhar - a Punjabi Word Processor and Gurmukhi OCR. Sherik is free software developed for educational purposes and it supports only one Punjabi font, Akhar. Sherik provides a number of features that make the use of Punjabi Language on a computer easy and provides a number of tools that automate and simplify the creation and formatting of documents.
